This teapot is made in Japan, not in China and that makes a huge difference. At least you don't have to worry that the paint will chip off or bleed onto your white kitchen towels like one of my chinese tetsubins did. This teapot will serve you and your family for ever. Needless to say that it brews the tea to perfection, it is also a very attractive piece, it will also serve as a decoration in your kitchen.Five star item!

Designed by noted Japanese artist, Hisanori Masuda, each Tetsubin is hand cast and finished with porcelain enamel interior. Hisanori Masuda aspires to design ironwork which integrates the beauty of traditional Japanese casting with modern day functionality. His collections are featured throughout the world including Museum of Modern Art of New York, Vicotria and Albert Museum of London, Longeles Craft Museum and the National Museum of Australia. Tetsubin teapots are not used to boil water and not to be placed on the stove top but are used for brewing and serving tea. The unique characteristics of the Tetsubin teapots enhance the flavor of tea and are preferred by master of tea ceremonies throughout the world.
